Announcing Grayscale 2.2.1 [Thursday, August 30, 2007]
Earlier this month, I tested and released version 2.2.1 of Grayscale Content Management System. This release contains only a handful of new features and changes.
New Features
A handful of new, minor features were added, mostly to aid in site maintenance and spam fighting.
- Banning a directory or classified submission will now also add the submitter's IP and email to ban lists.
- Added a new option to lock RSS feed title and description. Essentially this disallows overriding these items when the feed is updated
- Final implementation of bad e-mails/ bad words blocks on web forms
- New feature now requires link exhanges to be confirmed just like blog comments and mailing list subscriptions
- New "clean up" cron job performs the following functions:
- Remove e-mails from mailing list if they've gone unconfirmed after 3 days
- Remove blog comments from database if they've gone unconfirmed after 3 days
- Delete unapproved classifieds after 3 days
- Delete unapproved directory entries after 3 days
- Delete unconfirmed site registrations after 3 days
- Delete unconfirmed link exchanges after 3 days
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the CSS class for the dates on the mailinglist archives so they will be the same size as those in News
- Added a flag on the page to print mailing list labels to check whether any subscribers have selected snail mail as their delivery
- Trimmed the file name when displayed in the file admin
- Breadcrumb text repair on the page to add new files in admin
- Trim the length on the URLs in the junk traffic admin
- Mailing list confirmation page, removed the 'confirm' or 'id' parameters to be in the confirmation URL
