Q: What if I don't want [insert feature]
The beauty of Grayscale CMS is in the fact that features can be turned off and on at will, without any negative effect in the appearance or performance of the site.  Don't want a Blog? Turn it off. If you later decide you do want a Blog, then just turn it back on and start using it. It really is that simple.
Q: Why Would I Want a Blog?
A decision whether or not to have a blog should be weighed heavily against how you would use it and how often. For the most part, blogs are great tools for building a relationship with your site's visitors. It can also be used as a marketing tool, provided you retain a casual yet informative tone, rather than an overt marketing one.

We don't really recommend that you have both Articles and a Blog on your site (like we do), but rather choose one or the other - Articles if you plan on a more formal tone and don't want visitors to add comments, or the Blog if you're looking to take on a more casual tone and are open to allowing visitors to comment on your entries.

Q: Why Would I Want To Block User-Agents
First, a definition: A "User-Agent" is a broad term used to describe a computer program used to access a web site. Mostly, these include graphical web browsers, such as FireFox, Mozilla, Opera, or Internet Explorer. But browsers are only one of many types of programs that can access a site. Others are called "Bots" and they are, for purposes of this discussion, automated browsers.

Some bots are OK, such as search bots. For instance, Google employs a bot to go around crawling all of the sites on the Internet in order to build its index.

Other bots, however, are bad news. Some bots are used by spammers in order to search for e-mail addressed to spam. Some are used by hackers, looking for vulnerabilities to exploit.

By default, Grayscale CMS is set to block more than 2 dozen of these bad bots. It also allows you to maintain this list by adding, editing, and deleting them as you see fit. In doing so, you add another layer of security to your site, thus thwarting the efforts of spammers and hackers.
